It was a mixed weekend of results for the final round of matches in the Yorkshire Hockey Leagues. In Division One, the men’s second team beat Dinnington 5-4 in a rollercoaster game at Horsforth School and in the process claimed 4th place in the league table. Leeds took an early 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Richard Fletcher and Christian Hirst. Dinnington scored shortly afterwards, before captain Phil Stubley restored Leeds’ two goal advantage. |

Two goals from Alderley Edge’s Matt Hardy condemned Leeds’ first team to their sixth straight loss in the North Premier Division. It was Leeds’ final game of the season and the 7-0 loss leaves the side second from bottom in the league table. It is still unclear if Leeds will face a play-off with a team from Division One or simply relegated. Ben Badger, Phil Benton, Sam Gregory, Alex Morgan and Richard Van Ross were also on target for Alderley Edge. |
