The junior section at Leeds Hockey Club provides hockey training and development for boys and girls between 6 to 18 years of age. We are an England Hockey accredited club and were awarded full ClubsFirst status in 2006. This means we provide safe, effective, child-friendly hockey for young players – somewhere to have fun, meet new friends and be active.
Hockey is a fast moving, Olympic sport and at Leeds HC we coach all the skills needed to play the game. All you need to do is come along to one of the training sessions below with suitable sports kit (including tracksuits just in case it's a little cold!) plus a gum shield and hockey shin pads. We can provide a stick!
Our junior hockey is based at two locations - either on the pitches at our Leeds University Weetwood base, or at the nearby Horsforth High School. Our squad of experienced England Hockey qualified junior coaches run popular weekly training sessions throughout the season and our teams compete in the Yorkshire Youth Hockey League and in National knockout competitions. We have separate teams for boys and girls at U10, U12, U14, and U16 level - so everyone can get involved!
Fixtures for the season can be viewed on the Yorkshire Hockey Association website at www.yorkshireha.org.uk

Child protection
Leeds Hockey Club has a responsibility to safeguard the safety and welfare of its members. Our club has adopted England Hockey's Child Protection Policy and will follow its recommended procedures when dealing with any expression of concern. Child Protection plays an important part within our ClubsFirst accreditation and is an issue that all members in both the Junior and Senior sections should be aware of.
