Phil Stubly 20xx-2025
Chair
Phil has been at the Club since the early 90’s. He joined as he was always watching his Dad (Club stalwart Rod) play at Red Lane (the old Farsley Pitch).
Phil started playing in defence, worked his way up through the youth system and progressed to be a prolific forward. He has represented the club at every level, Captained some of the Men’s teams and is a qualified coach.
When asked to provide a comment about his time at the club Phil said:
“The club has been a central part of the Stubley household for many years. When I look back, I have seen the club from three Men’s teams to what it is now. The ambition of everyone involved in creating this Club I always find astounding. I can honestly say there is no club like us in the North of England”

Shannon Davey
Women’s Club Co-Captain
Shannon has been playing hockey for 20 years, moving through club, county and university systems (including our partner university, Leeds Beckett) before joining LHC in 2019.
Shannon has represented the club across the Women’s 3XI and 4XI, and has previously been on the committee as Communications Officer, and currently is captain of the Women’s 3XI in addition to Club Captain.
Few things in life are guaranteed, but Shannon A) giving the ball to a centre-forward at least once per game and B) finding her in The View Bar on a Saturday are exceptions to that!

Sam Mawer (202x – 2025)
Men’s Club Co-Captain
Sam Mawer joined the club as a 12 year old in 2002, a lack of football talent meaning his dream of playing for Leeds United had to be abandoned.
After leaving the club in 2009 and playing two seasons in Australia and multiple in the North East, Sam returned to the club in a blaze of glory after losing his last match for Whitley Bay 9-1 against a Leeds team on their way to national league promotion!
Back at Leeds, Sam settled in the 2XI team and has been captain of the side since 2017 and took on the role of Club Captain in 2018. You will either find him plodding around in defence somewhere, kicking the ball a lot, or on the side-lines at Weetwood trying to tell the next generation about the good old days.

Neil Parke (202x – 2025)
Fixtures Secretary
Neil has been involved with LHC for 12 years, involved in various roles within the club, now as the Fixtures Secretary.
He can usually be found pitch side or in The View Bar enjoying light refreshments.

Mike Pounder 2020-2025
Treasurer
A member of Leeds Hockey Club for the past 17 seasons, Mike was persuaded to start playing again by Chris McPhillimy by creating a side to support the development of Juniors. He managed to last a season and a half before old age and aches and pains won the day.
Prior to joining Leeds Mike has previously played for Harrogate HC 1 XI for a number of years and before that played in the East League for Pelicans.
After retiring for a second time, Mike was asked by Simon Batty to manage the Men’s 1 XI for a season which very quickly became eight.
Mike has played a pivotal role as part of the Partnership with UoL and Beckett being a firm supporter of the effort to improve the clubs playing standards.
After standing down as Men’s 1 XI manager he have been Treasurer for the last five seasons.
