Women's 1:

Leicester 1 (0 v 1) Leeds 1

This week the Women's 1 travelled south down the M1 to Leicester. After a lively start from both teams, Leicester settled into the first half with the better chances in the first half, with Phoebe Menear making some excellent saves.

Leeds came back strong in the third quarter with Rosie Foster scoring in the last few minutes and held Leicester off through the fourth quarter and saw the game out

Coach Ollie Lumley said "Much improved performance from our 6-2 loss against them last season, especially when you factor in the fact that Leicester scored in and won every game at home last season, apart from one, against Loughborough"

POTM: Alex Hurst

Men's 8:

Leeds 8 (3 v 5) City of York 8

The Men's 8 were hoping to build on their 12-2 win against Bradford 3 from the last week.

It was a competitive start to the first half with both teams pushing forward. City of York were the first to get on the score sheet as they scored off a counter attack. Shortly afterwards they scored two from penalty corners. Leeds struggled to get back into the game before City of York scored another off the run of play towards the end of the half making it 4-0 to City of York at half time.

Leeds bounced back at the beginning of the second half with a quickfire double from Kallum Greenwood in the opening five minutes. Leeds threatened York by pushing forward and creating numerous chances before City of York stole a goal to extend their lead to 5-2. Tom Broderick scored a late consolation goal slotting the ball between the keepers legs from right slip during the final penalty corner of the match resulting in a 5-3 loss at full time.

Captain Chris Devine said "We hope to learn from this game and improve ahead of our away to Scarborough this coming Saturday."

POTM - Tom Broderick
