Leeds Hockey Club has rapidly expanded over the last decade, through development of a thriving junior section and merging with the University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University performance hockey teams, resulting in 15 adult league teams.
Running a sports club of this size and calibre incurs a lot of costs, examples of overheads incurred during the 2019/2020 season are; £8,000 in fuel expenses, £4,000 for in league mandated match teas and a £15,000+ for coaching for both our Junior and Senior sections.
Following the uncertainty that 2020 has given us, it has highlighted how important sport is to our mental health, wellbeing and happiness. As a club, we want to increase the level of sponsorship and fundraising we draw in to create a more sustainable approach to the way our club is run. This will allow us to ride out a potentially turbulent season 2020/21 and
come out the other side a stronger and more robust club.
We ask our members and other interested parties to please look for potential sponsors/sponsor us personally, in exchange we will advertise said company at our home pitch at Sports Park Weetwood.
