Dear Club Members,
I wanted to let you know of some key changes at the club that were recently put through at the AGM. Simon Batty has replaced Derek Stuart as Club President. I have taken the position of Chair. I have been at the Club since my Dad used to take me down to Red Lane in Farsley in the 90’s. It is more than a priveledge to take over as Chair of this club. I am looking forward to what the future holds for us and where we can further develop our club.
In the short term coming out of what has happened over the last year and a half we still have challenges to overcome.
Firstly our volunteers. We have vacancies but I would like to highlight three key roles that are required to be filled before the start of the season. Should these not be filled this will impact people playing in the upcoming season. The roles are:
- Umpire Coordinator – It goes without saying the importance of this role. We also need to make this area more sustainable for ourselves in the future. Therefore new ways and ideas within this role are needed.
- Ladies Club Captains – With the growing Ladies section we ideally need two Club Captains to help communicate, organise and manage the ladies section of the club.
- Coaching Coordinator – Coaches are a rare resource. As a club we need to build our own network of coaches. We need someone to help coordinate, direct Coaches to training & resources.

I would like to let you know we have agreed a new kit provider with Stag Sports. Further details of this will be released in due course.
Finally I hope that you can all attend Club Day on September the 4th. Torquill Hall is arranging the day. There will be fixtures published and an opportunity for every member to play.
I will be at Weetwood all day on the 4th and look forward to seeing many of you that I haven’t been able to over the last year. You don’t have to be playing to attend.
